Terms of Service

1. The service

EarlyFinish is software that helps you record electrical inspection and test results and produce certificates (EICR, EIC, Minor Works), with AI assistance for reading meters and boards. EarlyFinish is a tool - it is not a certification body, competent-person scheme, or a substitute for your professional judgement.

2. Eligibility

You confirm you are a competent person qualified to carry out and certify the electrical work you record, and that you hold any required competent-person scheme membership and insurance. You are responsible for the accuracy of everything you enter.

3. Your account

Keep your sign-in secure and don't share it. You're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly of any unauthorised use. You must provide accurate account and business details.

4. AI features - you must verify

The Scan features use AI to suggest values from your photos. AI can misread. Every AI-suggested value is shown unverified until you confirm it, and the app will not let you finalise a certificate until you have. You are solely responsible for checking that every value is correct before you sign. EarlyFinish gives no warranty as to the accuracy of AI suggestions.

5. Professional responsibility

A certificate you sign in EarlyFinish is your professional certificate. You are the inspecting/testing/certifying person and are responsible for its content, compliance with BS 7671 and all applicable regulations, and its issue to your client. The built-in BS 7671 limit values are provided as a working aid and should be cross-checked against the current published standard. EarlyFinish does not submit notifications to schemes or building control on your behalf unless explicitly stated.

6. Acceptable use

• Don't use the app unlawfully, or to store data you have no lawful basis to hold.
• Don't attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Don't upload malicious content or anyone else's data without a lawful basis.

7. Your data

Our handling of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy, and where we process your customers' data on your behalf, the Data Processing Agreement applies. You are responsible for your own ICO registration and for informing your customers as required.

8. Fees, subscription & cancellation

EarlyFinish is offered on a subscription, billed in advance and renewing automatically until you cancel: £20 per month, or £200 per year (two months free), inclusive of VAT where applicable. The price shown when you subscribe applies to your current term; we'll give notice of any change. (We sometimes issue complimentary access codes at our discretion; these can be withdrawn.)

Introductory offer. From time to time we run a limited launch promotion - currently a reduced £10 for your first month on the monthly plan, after which it renews at the standard £20 per month. The offer applies to new subscriptions only, is limited in number and time, may be varied or withdrawn at any time, and cannot be combined with other discounts.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

App Store purchases. If you subscribe through the Apple App Store, payment is charged to your Apple ID and the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled in your App Store subscription settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The price shown in-app is set through the App Store and may differ from the web prices above. Billing, cancellation and refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's Media Services terms; the web promotions and the money-back guarantee below apply to purchases made on our website only.

Money-back guarantee. If you take an annual plan and it isn't for you, tell us within 30 days of payment and we'll refund it in full. Monthly fees already taken are non-refundable (you can cancel anytime to stop the next charge), except where the law requires otherwise. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Failed payments. If a renewal fails we may retry it and, after a reasonable grace period, suspend access until payment succeeds; your data is retained during that period.

The service is provided on an "as available" basis and may be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control; during any early-access or beta period it carries no uptime guarantee.

9. Intellectual property

We own the EarlyFinish software and brand. You own the certificate content and data you create. You grant us only the limited rights needed to host and process it to provide the service.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (e.g. death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). Subject to that, EarlyFinish is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or for any loss arising from your reliance on AI suggestions you did not verify or from certificates you issued; and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) £1,000.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful processing of personal data, or certificates you issue.

12. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your data at any time (Settings → Delete my data). We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms, giving notice where reasonable.

13. Changes & governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in-app. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, whose courts have exclusive jurisdiction.
